:: Product of the month - UPS :: |
|
UPS stands for Uninterruptable Power Supply. It is a device that plugs into your server and networking equipment and is designed to do just as the name suggests – provide an uninterrupted power supply. It is a necessary and worthwhile investment for every business running a server that stores vital and important files.
During any power failure, surge, or spike, the power to your server is interrupted suddenly. This may just cause the server to reboot or shutdown but in some cases it is much more serious. Operating Systems and hard drives can corrupt and power supplies can be damaged. Now power supplies can be replaced but what about all your valuable data?
The UPS has it's own rechargeable battery which provides emergency power for your system immediately in the case of a power failure, thereby preventing data loss. It provides sufficient battery power for your files to be saved and for the whole system to be shut down in an orderly manner. |
